Our Story

Janie and Josephine

I always knew something magical was about to happen when Mum reached for her tarot cards and lit the candles.

I’m Josephine, a lifelong lover of art, stories and symbolism and Tarotherapy was inspired by my mum, Janie, who, after more than two decades as an English teacher retrained in counselling during the pandemic, driven by a deep desire to support mental wellbeing in a more holistic way.

Alongside this, we both began to deepen our relationship with tarot, not as fortune-telling, but as a mirror for the mind: a creative, intuitive tool for reflection, insight and growth.

Tarotherapy was born from the belief that healing isn’t one-size-fits-all, and that sometimes, the most powerful insights come from unexpected places. Our approach brings together the symbolic language of tarot with grounded therapeutic skills. Whether you're navigating change, processing emotions or simply seeking space to pause and reflect, our sessions are designed to gently guide you inward with compassion, curiosity and care.

Each reading is a conversation. You're always in control, and we’re here to hold space with you. We believe in the power of symbolism, storytelling and self-awareness and how tarot, when approached with intention, can be a valuable companion on your journey.

Tarotherapy is run by myself and my mum, Janie, who passed down her love of the cards to me. Together, we hold space for people of all walks of life, offering gentle guidance, meaningful connection and hopefully a little spark of magic.

Blessed be,

Josephine
